Description

Some character practice and designs. I havn't drawn Marcella , of the house of necromancy and voodoo from new Orleans (right) as much and I forgot how fun it is to test out her colour palette.

Matska (left ) is a character that I've been wanting to draw/design for a long time. The idea came after re-reading Carmilla novella  I noticed that there are some characters that made an appearance and were never mentioned again . One being Carmilla's mother and the other woman that was riding the carriage with her. When carmilla woke up she  asked for a person name Mastka ( along with her mother)  so I assume that was the other woman's name. I worked along with the description of Matska (which was very little in the book ) and pretty much just improvise the rest.

Of course those characters were fleshed out attemptedly in the Web Series which Carmilla's "mother" was named "Lilita Morgan" who was the Dean of Silas University who turned out to be no other than Mesopotamian Goddess Inanna (yeah the Web Series is really weird) and Matska was Carmilla's adoptive sister who had a surname "Belmonde".

Of course as for the original book's canon, Occalm's Razor easily points out that they're Karnsteins (as in Carmilla's entire noble family are Vampires) and of course as for Matksa there is no doubt a history of African dispora in nobility as easily depicted here.

Of course the original book also mentions about a Tall Pale Man that greets Carmilla at the carriage during Spielsdorf's masquerade ball story as well who could be Carmilla's older brother which of course the Hammer films introduced Count Karnstein from "Lust of a Vampire" which is a Hammer film from 1971.
